Thanksgiving is known for being a day of eating lots of delicious food. Shake things up a bit by starting with some Holiday inspired cocktails before the great meal.

Most people think of cocktails as something that goes together with Christmas or New Year parties, and not so much for Thanksgiving. However, there are plenty of cocktail ideas out there that contain very Thanksgiving-like ingredients such as pumpkin and cranberry.

Make this Thanksgiving special by including some of these delicious drink ideas that will complement any Thanksgiving meal. These can be served before or after the meal. They are also great for breaking the ice at big gatherings as they are great conversation starters.

Crazy Pumpkin

Ingredients:

• 1 part vanilla vodka
• 1 part Kahlua
• 1 part Irish Creme
• A dash of pumpkin pie spice
• Candy Corns

Directions:

1. Place a Candy Corn on the bottom of a martini glass.
2. Mix together the Irish Creme, Kahlua and vanilla vodka in a shaker with ice. Pour into a martini glass and sprinkle the pumpkin pie spice on top for decoration and to add extra flavoring.

Wild Turkey

Ingredients:

• 1 part Grand Marnier
• 2 parts Antioxidant Cherry Sprite
• 2 parts cranberry juice

Directions:

1. Mix all the ingredients in a tall glass with ice.
2. For a healthier drink you can use 100 percent cranberry juice without sugar.

Cranberry Delight

Ingredients:

• 2 parts cranberry juice
• 2 parts Chambord
• 1 part rum
• 2 parts canned cranberries
• Fresh mint leaves

Directions:

1. Put all ingredients in a blender with ice and blend until smooth.
2. Pour into martini glass and place 2 or 3 mint leaves to garnish.

Baked Apple

Ingredients:

• 1 part bourbon
• 3 parts apple cider
• 1 part apple schnapps
• Cinnamon sticks

Directions:

1. Warm the apple cider in a glass mug.
2. Add the bourbon and apple schnapps, then stir in a cinnamon stick.

Apple Pie

• 2 parts cranberry juice
• 3 parts apple juice
• 2 parts rum
• 1 part Chambord
• Ringlet sliced apple

Directions:

1. Mix all ingredients, except for the sliced apple, in a tall glass and heat in the microwave for about 20 to 30 seconds, or until warm.
2. Garnish the edge of the glass with a ringlet of apple.

Thanksgiving Treat

Ingredients:

• 1 part apple brandy
• 1/2 part ginger brandy
• 1 part spiced rum
• 4 parts eggnog
• Ginger cookies

Directions:

1. Mix the eggnogg, spiced rum and brandies in a cocktail glass with ice.
2. Garnish the top with crumpled up ginger cookies.

These delicious cocktails will put the finishing touches to any Thanksgiving Soiree and delight every dinner guest. Every drink recipe can also hold its own in any Holiday party.

As Thanksgiving cocktail parties are also quite popular these days, all these drinks will work wonderfully. All the ingredients used in these recipes are perfect for the fall season overall, so they can be served in any party during the months prior to winter.

Best of all, these versatile cocktails can also be worked right into all types of winter festivities such as Christmas and New Year's. The drinks recipes included here will serve a purpose for the fall and winter seasons and make any celebration that much merrier.
