Halloween Cocktails Sure to Raise Spirits

Halloween doesn't only have to be for the kids, adults can get into the spirit by trying one of these holiday themed drinks.

When the kids are out trick-or-treating, adults can relax with one of the seven fun Halloween inspired cocktail suggestions below. Whether you are looking for some Halloween variations of the traditional martini, a tropical-esque orange drink or a Kahlua based creation, these drinks are sure to add some fun and spookiness to your next adults-only Halloween celebration.

1. Pumpkin Martini

Ingredients:

  • 1 part Vodka of your choice
  • 1 part pumpkin butter
  • 1/2 part triple sec
  • 1/2 part simple syrup
  • A pinch each of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and ginger
  • Grated nutmeg for garnish

Directions:

In ice filled cocktail shaker add all ingredients. Shake vigorously until the outside of the shaker is frosted and beading with sweat. Strain into martini glass and garnish with nutmeg.

2. Black Martini

Ingredients:

  • 2/3 oz. of your favorite Gin
  • 1/3 oz. Black Sambuca

Directions:

Pour ingredients over ice and gently shake. Strain and serve in cocktail glass.

3. The Wicked Witch

Ingredients:

  • .25 oz. Cherry Liqueur
  • 1 tsp of Lemon Juice
  • .25 oz. Pineapple Juice
  • 1.5 oz. Whiskey/Rye

Directions:

Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice cubes and shake well. Fill a second tumbler almost full of ice and strain drink into it.

4. The Purple Devil

Ingredients:

  • 1 splash of Lemon Lime Soda
  • 1 part Amaretto
  • 1 part Cranberry Juice
  • 1 Part Triple Sec

Directions:

Mix all ingredients together over crushed ice and garnish with mint leaves before serving.

5. The Vampire

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Vodka of your choice
  • 1 oz. Chambord
  • 1oz. Lime Juice
  • 1 oz. Cranberry Juice

Directions:

Add all ingredients to a shaker half filled with ice cubes and shake well. Drink should be strained into cocktail glasses before serving.

6. The Pumpkin Eater

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 oz. of your favorite Light Rum
  • 1 oz. Orange Curacao
  • 1/2 oz. Triple Sec
  • 1 oz. Orange Juice
  • 1/2 oz. Cream

Directions:

Add ice and all ingredients to blender, blending until smooth. Serve in cocktail glass and garnish with orange wedge and a cherry.

7. Ghostbuster

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz. Vodka of your choice
  • 0.5 oz. Irish Cream
  • 0.5 oz. Kahlua

Directions:

Pour all ingredients into a shaker half filled with ice and shake well. Strain into cocktail glasses.

Tips for Enjoying These Halloween Cocktails:

  • These drinks can be enjoyed alongside the candy bowl or with dinner.

  • If serving alongside a meal, consider pairing them with a simple menu to emphasize the flavor of each drink.
