There are probably as many margarita recipes as there are brands of tequila. Here are a few margaritas recipes from low budget to the ultimate margarita.
There are basically two types of margarita’s, the frozen margarita and margarita on the rocks. There are many more recipes for a margarita on the rocks than there are for the frozen types of margarita. This article is all about the more traditional Mexican margaritas, which are normally served on the rocks (ice). Types of Tequila Used in a MargaritaThere are a few types of tequila’s that can be used in a margarita. There’s regular tequila and 100% Blue Agave Tequila. For a better tasting margarita, a premium 100% Blue Agave Tequila is recommended. For a mellower taste, aged tequila like a Reposado or an Anejo is a better choice for an even tastier margarita. Ingredients in a Margarita on the RocksNaturally tequila is the main ingredient in a margarita. The typical non-frozen type margarita usually has some type of citrus flavoring like lime or orange. This can be accomplished by using actual citrus juices or by other liqueurs that have a citrus flavoring or even a combination of juices and liqueurs. Margarita Recipes: Low Budget Margarita
Rub lime slice over rim of glass. Dip the glass rim into the margarita salt. Fill glass with ice and mix tequila, triple sec, sweet and sour. Stir and garnish with a lime slice. Cadillac Margarita:

Rub lime slice over rim of a chilled martini glass. Dip the martini glass rim into the margarita salt. Mix tequila, Cointreau, Grand Marnier, lime juice and orange juice into a shaker with ice and shake. Pour mixture into chilled martini glass straining the ice. Garnish with a lime slice and martini olive on a skewer. Enjoy some of these tasty margarita recipes with some good Mexican food with a bit of a spicy kick to it. The bitter taste of the lime and tequila in a margarita helps to intensify the flavor and spiciness of Mexican food. Try a spicy appetizer like tortilla chips smothered in melted cheese and sliced jalapenos with a nice cold margarita. Add some guacamole and sour cream for an even better tasting appetizer.
